Sony’s Current Storm + Random 80s Hair Band = ?

Poor Sony… You’ve been all over the news lately and not in a good way. Well, what do you expect? A hacker attacks your PlayStation Network and gains access to over a 100 million users information. Eeek! PR Daily thinks that you should take the advice of Nelson, an 80s rock group, that coined the phrase “After the Rain.” Nelson’s #1 hit song was great publicity for them and great advice for Sony. We Are The World 2010: We’re not even South Jersey…

I don’t know if you had the chance to check this out yet:

but in my opinion it is a slap in the face to the original. Sure, the song is chock full of A-list celebs and singers, but there is something missing from this version: heart. It is apparent that this version is done by people who are singing more for their careers than for the people in need. And the worst part? Look no further to a delightful intermission of listening to LL Cool J, Snoop Dogg, Jaime Foxx and their friends try rapping on top one of the most important songs of the 80s. Does everything need to have rap in it to make it current? I would think that for a song that became a personifying face of human relief would have been taken more seriously, but thats just my 2 cents….
