Remember the cars of the 80s? No?! Great, that’s where we come in. Always aiming to bring you the best of the 1980s, we’ll take you back. Follow us…oh and… ummmm… buckle up!
If you’re wondering, and if you’re a true child of the 80s, you definitely should be… these were the songs that topped the charts back on April 19 in the 1980s.
1980 “Call Me” Blondie
1981 “Kiss on My List” Daryl Hall & John Oates
1982 “I Love Rock ‘n Roll” Joan Jett and The Blackhearts
1983 “Billie Jean” Michael Jackson
1984 “Footloose” Kenny Loggins
1985 “We Are the World” USA for Africa
1986 “Kiss” Prince
1987 “I Knew You Were Waiting (For Me)” Aretha Franklin and George Michael
1988 “Get Outta My Dreams, Get Into My Car” Billy Ocean
I know, we are always talking movies. But let’s face it, some of the best movies came from the 80s. And right now, these days, it seems any movie that came out during the 80s is ripe for a remake.
So, why all these remakes now? I think I know what it might be. Those of us who grew up watching Freddy Krueger and Mr. Miyagi are now in a position to green-light the movies we loved as children. They are developing sequels and reboots to such 80s classics as “Ghostbusters,” “21 Jump Street,” and “The Smurfs” too. 20th Century Fox will also release a feature film based on the ’80s action-adventure TV series “The A-Team” this year.
And in our constant search for the best of the 80s, I wanted to close with the original Ghostbusters trailer from 1984. Happy viewing. What 80s films would you like to see remade, redid, redone???
I had the pleasure of watching the latest “Back to the Futuresque” film, Hot Tub Time Machine. If I were two elderly, overpaid movie critics, I would have given this film Two Thumbs Up. It was hilarious. With numerous songs, quotes, and references to the greatest decade in the last 200 years, this movie brings out the younger side in all of us. If you havent seen the preview or our post on it before, you can review our Hot Tub Time Machine post here. To check out the official site, visit hottubtimemachinemovie.com.
